A complex simulation center especially for students of medicine and dentistry in Brno Masaryk University will be constructed by OHL ŽS in joint venture with other companies. The construction site handover is planned for the next few days; the preparation works will start immediately after that.
The simulation center for 562 million CZK will grow in Bohunice university campus. The low energy five-storey building will simulate a real hospital environment starting with the emergency department intake with fully equipped model ambulance car, heliport, intensive care unit, operating theaters, delivery rooms, examination rooms, dentist surgeries, to standard hospital.
The building of the training hospital will be located near the new headquarters of South Moravian Rescuers and the total area should come to 8000 m2. Students will thus gain a safe environment for quality and authentic learning. When preparing the project, the team was inspired by experience from abroad.
The building will be built by the Complex Simulation Centre where OHL ŽS, a.s. has 30 % share (other partners are PSJ a.s. and IDPS, s.r.o.). The contracting authority is the Masaryk University. The contract was signed on 29 June 2018. Most of the costs will be paid from Operational Program Research, Development and Education subsidies.
