Almost twelve kilometers section between Prostějov and Mořice has undergone a reconstruction in recent months. It was this year biggest investment in the Olomouc region in the field of transport. The reconstruction divided into four stages was completed one month earlier compared to the original plan and at the end of last week the road was officially opened.
The backbone road between Prostějov and Mořice in the section from the intersection with the road II / 150 in Wolkerova street in Prostějov to the beginning of the village of Mořice was in poor technical condition. Mainly the sunken edges of the road represented a high risk for motorists. In addition to the surface itself, the subbase of the road was repaired and has now a higher load capacity.
Even some of the local bridges did not escape the reconstruction, i.e. the bridges over road I / 46 and over Určický potok. The Bridge over the Hana River is still waiting for demolition. The technicians discovered the poor state of the reinforced concrete beams of the old bridge and decided to replace it with a new one. Now, the project is being processed and the bridge will be built again by May next year according to the plan.
The total cost of the reconstruction of this busy road cost 200 million CZK and was mostly paid for from subsidies from the Integrated Regional Operational Program. A joint venture of OHL ŽS and PORR companies has been working on the site from March this year until the end of August.
