The construction of almost 34 kilometres of a new sewerage network in the municipalities of Hodějice, Němčany, Křižanovice, Heršpice and Nížkovice na Vyškovsku and the construction of a common wastewater treatment plant in Hodějice is a project of a voluntary union of the Ligary Municipalities.

We have built a separate sewerage network which means that we have left the original sewers and added new wastewater sewers. The retained parts of the original sewerage system are now used to drain rainwater.

In the predominant part of the town residential area, there is a gravity drainage. Due to the configuration of the terrain, the system includes 11 pumping stations located in the lowest sewer catchment areas. The whole system can be controlled and monitored using a computer from a control room located in the waste water treatment plant.

Architecturally, the wastewater treatment plant was designed to fit properly into the landscape but at the same time to be resistant to flood discharge up to the hundred-year water level. The capacity of the wastewater treatment plant was designed for 4 600 equivalent inhabitants. The project included the construction of a technological line for wastewater treatment in the mechanical and biological cleaning set.

The total cost of the construction amounted to 352 million CZK. The project is co-financed by European Union funds – Operational Programme Environment, State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, South Moravian Region and investor´s resources, Voluntary Association of the LIGARY Municipalities.
