The revitalization of the railway line in the existing single-rail non-electrified regional railway line Břeclav-Znojmo was launched in the spring of 2017.

The track modifications of this construction applied to the section of Boří Les railway station (outside) – Valtice railway station(including) in the length of 9,836 km. The aim of the construction was to increase the line speed and thus to reduce transport time, to increase the safety of rail transport especially on railway crossings and to increase the competitiveness of rail transport and passenger comfort by building a barrier-free platform at the Valtice-City stop.

Prior to the reconstruction, the line speed was 80 km/h in this section, and in the stations it was only limited to 40 km/h due to the security system. The reconstruction of the track and station, including railway crossings and security equipment, will increase the speed up to 120 km/h between stations and up to 100 km/h in the main track in the station.

In 2018, the construction received the 1st award in the Construction of the South Moravian Region 2017 in the Transport and Civil Engineering category.
