The Narodni trida station was first opened in 1985, floods hit it in 2002 and this is why it was closed for some time. The reconstruction was necessary. Therefore, the reconstruction began in 2012. Because the vestibule had only one entrance, it was impossible to carry out the repairs under full or limited operation, so during the reconstruction, the metro train sets were only passing through.
Completely everything has gone through the modernization, from escalators to operating facilities. The existing vestibule, including the technical area of the station on the surface and the first underground floor were demolished and the escalator tunnel shortened. The exit from the metro now leads to the second underground floor of the multifunctional Quadrio complex, which has four underground and eight aboveground floors, or directly to Spalena Street. In the underground part, the vestibule adjoins the underground car park for 250 vehicles.
