ROBE ARENA is the name of the newly renovated sports hall in Zubří which OHL ŽS has repaired for the last nine months. The main purpose of the repairs was to increase the comfort for both sportsmen and visitors and to reduce the energy performance of a twenty-three-year-old building.
Since the hall serves primarily for the local handball club, its reopening on Saturday, April 7 was stylishly accompanied by a match between the Czech and Polish teams. In a half-time break, the hall was opened and the representatives of the contractor, Zubří management and the management of the Zlín Region cut the tape.
Visitors of the hall had the opportunity to see the usually inaccessible places of the ROBE arena, such as the facilities, offices, cloakrooms, regeneration rooms, etc.
Employees of the Ostrava branch of OHL ŽS, a.s. have been working on the construction since the last June. The incurred costs came to almost 60 million CZK.
Modernization and major repairs were made to the roof construction, ventilation, heating, stands and toilets for spectators, sports facilities for players. The floor and related playing area was also a big item. They did not exist in the original repair project but from a static and safety point of view it was necessary to disassemble the floor and replace it with a new one. The artificial surface now meets the highest demands.
