The investment of the century, that is how the South Bohemian Region calls the construction of two multifunctional pavilions in the premises of Český Krumlov Hospital. While the smaller pavilion A was already opened in summer, the larger pavilion B was presented to the public in mid-November. It will replace the original pavilion of gynecology, maternity and children´s ward which served for more than sixty years.
The pavilion B has four floors. On the ground floor, there is facility and emergency room, on other floors there are individual wards and administrative premises. On the fourth floor above ground, there is a gynecological-maternal ward strategically and barrier free connected with the central operating theaters in the surgery ward.
The main goal was to create new, maximally purposeful and effective premises for patients and hospital personnel. The emphasis is put on the simple orientation, optimal size of the premises and connection to other workplaces and operations.
The medical personnel will completely move in the new premises in February. Until then, the pavilion must still get painted and furnished, after that the existing operation will be moved in.
The main investor of the construction which lasted 20 months was the South Bohemian Region. The total cost was 180 million CZK.
