The historical building was reconstructed into its original Neo-Baroque appearance, including the pargeting in the vestibule areas of the building.
An annex building serving as a departure lounge is located in front of the historical building. It accommodates ticket offices, the Czech Railways Centre and the passage to the historical building with other facilities such as waiting rooms, restaurants, shops and services.
The annex building is designed as a modern reinforced-concrete structure with exceptionally slim columns with a transparent façade, the construction of which uses frameless glazing. The glass panels are fixed in the joints on pre-stressed pull rods which are kept in permanently pre-stressed condition by springs. The roof decking contains glazed holes with lights located above them that illuminate the area of the vestibule.
An architectural fountain, which has, besides its aesthetic function also a climatic function, is located in front of the annex building.
