THE MIXING PLANT WAS CEREMONIALLY OPENED IN BOSKOVICE

On 30 September, the reconstructed hot-mix plant was ceremonially opened in Boskovice. It was created by replacing the original mixing plant operated by D E A S, spol. s r.o., with the capacity of 100 tonnes of bituminous mixtures per hour for the new ASKOM VS 3TV batching asphalt mixing plant, the tower version, the maximum capacity of which is twice as big, i.e. 200 tonnes per hour. The new company, Obalovna Boskovice, s.r.o., is a subsidiary company of OHL ŽS and Silniční a vodohospodářské stavby and the D E A S company.

The hot-mix plant is a production facility securing the production of high quality bituminous mixtures for the construction of roads and hard surfaces both for the parent companies and for external contractors.

The new mixing plant is of the tower version. The tanks for the finished mixture are located directly under the mixing centre. It is a standard technological facility commonly operated in mixing plants both in our country and abroad. It comprises of a steel structure with a partial sheathing and is delivered as a complete technological
unit that is installed on prepared foundation constructions. It comprises of an aggregate feeder, discharge conveyor, drying device, dust suction plant, storage bins for the filler, sorting and mixing tower with dispatching tanks and the control centre. The technological device also contains an asphalt handling device situated by the asphalt mixing plant.

The Roads Division of OHL ŽS and the Projekce designing studio significantly participated in implementing the building part of the project. The total cost of the new mixing plant (the land, building and technological parts) amounted to CZK 86 million. The business interests in the new Obalovna Boskovice, s.r.o. company are 45 per cent for OHL ŽS, a.s., 45 per cent for Pražské silniční a vodohospodářské stavby, a.s., and 10 per cent for D E A S , spol. s.r.o.,
