THE FIRST PHASE OF A CLEAR ROAD THROUGH THE MUNICIPALITY WAS OPENED IN DOLANY

Dolany, 8 September 2011 – Today, the first phase of the clear road through the Dolany municipality in the Olomouc region, i.e. Road III/44311, was ceremonially completed. The investors of the reconstruction were the Olomouc Regional Authority and the Dolany municipality, with the total costs exceeding CZK 33.162 million exclusive of VAT. “I am glad we managed to find the financial resources for this communication that already really deserved the reconstruction,” said the President of the Olomouc Region, Martin Tesařík.

The section of Road III/44311 leading from the central part of the Dolany municipality towards Jívová was reconstructed at the length of 1,221 m. The communication is a two-lane road, with a traffic lane being 3.25 m wide (only 3 m in the confined part) and the road border line made up of two lines of granite. The surface is of bitumen concrete finished with concrete curb stones. The surface of the bus bays is of granite pointed paving and the surface of the drive ways is of 10 x 10 cm granite setts. Embedded kerbs – access concrete kerbs – were used in the place of drive ways. Three parking bays and pavement with a surface of interlocking block paving were built during the reconstruction.

The communication, pavement and parking bays are drained by means of longitudinal and lateral inclinations of the consolidated surface to the street gutters connected to the sewer system. Its reconstruction was carried out concurrently with the repair of the communication. A part of the sewer and public sections of the branch drains were reconstructed. The original retaining wall treated with oversite concrete was replaced with a new reinforced-concrete retaining wall which is 50.4 m long and 35 cm wide. The top of the wall is formed by a monolithic reinforced-concrete cornice.

The investors of the reconstruction which commenced in August 2010 were the Olomouc Regional Authority and the Dolany municipality. The total investment amounted to CZK 33,165,242 million (exclusive of VAT). “The contract was completed according to the Contract Agreement on 31 August this year and today we are opening the road on the occasion of its final inspection, thus putting it to operation,” said Jaromír Pelinka, CEO of  Division 3 Olomouc of the Surface Construction Branch OHL ŽS, a.s. that implemented the contract.
