On 25 May, the results of the 2009 Czech Transport Construction of the Year competition were ceremonially announced in the Bethlehem Chapel, Prague. Our company was competing in the A category – “Transport Infrastructure Construction Projects for the Trans-European Transport Networks Co-Financed from EU Funds” and took first place among its strong competitors for the implementation of the “Modernization of the Veselí nad Lužnicí – Tábor Railway Line, Phase 1, the Doubí u Tábora – Tábor Section”.
“I was pleasantly surprised to see that the project had been included in the competition short-list. The result is a great success for us, I personally value this very much. This award belongs to all those who spent nearly three years of their professional as well as personal lives with the construction project,” said Lumír Pyszko, the Project Manager.
Thanks go to all the employees who participated in the construction – from blue-collar workers to management. The team led by Lumír Pyszko was in charge of the project management. Its members representing OHL ŽS, a.s. were as follows: Pavlína Štrofová, Luban Kovačevič, Jozef Grendár, Hubert Bodejček, Drahomíra Božková, Šárka Kavanová, Jaroslav Lomecký, and František Kotrba.
