The embankment of the Prague-Bráník-Vrané relocated railway track, which was constructed as a sealed anti-flooding barrier, was used as the base for the anti-flooding measures. The bed of the railway line is intersected with four underpasses of service roads which may be closed with special assembled stop logs inserted into the guides concreted on the upstream side of the underpass supports in case of flooding. The railway embankment is also intersected with several rainwater drain lines and brooks. As a measure against penetration and accumulation of flood water in the protected area, on all entries of sewers and brooks, under the railway bed, on the upstream side of the embankment blocking shafts with backflow valves were built which will prevent flood water penetrating into the protected area in the case of flooding. Designed and constructed on the protected side of the embankment (on the reverse side of the river) were pumping stations equipped with FLYGT pumps of the capacity of up to 250 l/s for re-pumping any rainwater running down to the protected area as well as water (if any) leaking under the bed of the anti-flooding barrier. A discharge pipe leads from every pump to the upstream side and is finished off with a seepage shaft and protected against backflow of water with a backflow valve and a backflap.
