The project was divided to two phases: Phase I – the construction of the multifunctional entrepreneurial centre, Phase II – the reconstruction of the Slovan Hotel.
Phase I
The multifunctional entrepreneurial centre is a new construction which was built on the gap site by the Slovan Hotel. The construction is designed as a basementless monolithic structure made of reinforced concrete and founded on piles. The structure has an architectonic design of a glassed parterre surrounding a central shopping arcade which forks off into patios at its end and the axis of which is directed to the central staircase and lifts. The central light well with galleries trimmed with coloured lighting tubes on individual floors is situated above the arcade.
Around the building, a total of 1,440 m2 of commercial areas are situated and these are available for rent in parts to individual clients. Each commercial unit is equipped with air-conditioning, heat & ventilation devices, fire and safety alarms and a computer network distribution system.
Phase II
Phase II comprised of the reconstruction of the Slovan Hotel which was reconstructed into a modern, fully equipped four-star hotel complex with the capacity of 70 beds. The original hotel building comprises of three attached three-floor structures. The rooms in the hotel underwent complete reconstruction and a new barrier-free room was constructed. All the rooms were not only furnished and embellished with decorative elements, but also equipped with distribution systems for the connection of TV and the Internet.
The circulation areas of the hotel, such as the restaurant, bar and café, and the technical base, including the lift and the client address system were repaired. The facade with historicizing elements on the original building of the hotel was repaired and a new entrance to the hotel was constructed.
A two-story annex structure was built on the court-yard enclosure which serves as a base for the kitchen with the capacity of 250 meals a day, a new transformer station and a standby power unit. Water-service pipes, sewers and power service lines were completely replaced and a parking lot for 60 vehicles was constructed.
