The Moravian Theatre in Olomouc has its seat in the historical building on the Horní Square, built in 1828 – 1830 on the foundations of a theatre building of even older origin. The building is a listed property and is registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. In the course of the last century, the building went through various partial adaptations and was completed with annex buildings. The overall condition of the structure was however very bad and some parts had already passed the threshold of their service life and technical operability.

During the reconstruction new insulation against subsoil moisture and water-proofing of flat roofs was installed, windows and doors, plaster, paving and tiling were replaced. Devices for venting of ballet halls, the choir hall and rehearsal rooms were installed, wiring was replaced in the whole building, and a new heating system was installed. To improve the condition of the theatre operation, new premises were annexed comprising of cloakrooms, rehearsal rooms, the costume department and sanitary facilities.

After its reconstruction, the building of the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc meets all the requirements necessary for the operation of a modern theatre. The building of the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc is a listed property and is registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic.
