The subject of the contract is the complete construction of “Optimization of the Bohumín Railway Junction”, which belongs among the group of construction projects implemented as a part of the modernization and optimization of the network of selected corridors of Czech railways. From the point of view of international passenger and freight transport, the Bohumín Railway Junction makes up a part of Transit Rail Corridor II (Austria-Břeclav-Přerov-Petrovice u Kraviné-Poland) and meets the following parameters: increase in the track speed up to 140 km/h on the main tracks, achievement of UIC GC traffic clearance, and the achievement of the UIC D4 track load class. The construction included the optimization of the Bohumín Railway Junction from the 274.272 km mark to the 277.090 km mark, including adaptations of track group 200 up to the 277.890 km mark and adaptation of the track in the direction of Chalupki (Poland).

As a part of the construction, new premises for technical & hygienic servicing of wagons were built in the area of existing group 300, including the construction of a hall for servicing wagons, a wagon washing facility, excrement emptying tracks and a sewage treatment plant, including technological facilities. The construction was divided into 122 construction structures and 80 operational units.

The subject of the reconstruction of the main continuous double-tracked line and sidetracks, including track group 200, i.e. railway bed and track superstructure, level crossings, and also the reconstruction of bridges and culverts, new overhead contact line, safety and communication facilities, cable lines, new platforms, including barrier-free access (subway with lifts) and roofing, construction of necessary technological structures to accommodate technological facilities, anti-noise measures and soft landscaping.
