The International Building Fairs 2004 were officially opened by holding a social evening, the organisation and programme of which were jointly prepared by ŽS Brno, a. s. and Veletrhy Brno, a. s.

The evening comprised of announcing the results of the competitions for gold medals at the fairs and a concert given by violin virtuoso Pavel Šporcl, a performance by actress and singer Zora Jandová and pianist and composer Zdenek Merta.
