As a part of the Building Fairs 2004 in Brno, the Rehabilitation Complex SK 120 was ceremonially christened, having been named VLASTA (derived from Czech word “vlast”, meaning homeland in English) at the godfather’s request. The godfather of the rehabilitation line was the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Vladimír Špidla. The ceremonial christening took place in the presence of the Mayor of the City of Brno, Petr Duchoň, CEO of Veletrhy Brno, a. s. , Jiří Škrla, and other official guests and journalists.

ŽS Brno is the owner and operator of this unique complex which is able to carry out constructions of railway corridors by means of progressive technologies lying in establishing construction layers of railway bed and track superstructure in a continuous manner. It is a technology that does not require the track grid to be taken off, hence enabling significantly reducing the length of a section under construction and the time of sub-base exposure. The application of this technology avoids the risk of sub-base erosion by movement of construction mechanisms and road vehicles, the construction layer is produced in a continuous manner, without any irregularities in the whole length of a section being reconstructed, there is no need to close off a neighbouring track under operation, it is only necessary to reduce the speed of the trains.
One striking advantage is also the significant reduction of negative impacts on the environment.
