On 27 June 2006, the implementation of the Podkrušnohoří – Sewage Treatment Plant Reconstruction project, partially funded by the EU, was ceremonially completed in Žatec. The contractor of the project was the “Sdružení firem Podkrušnohoří – ČOV” consortium, comprising of Metrostav, a.s., OHL ŽS a. s. and Vodohospodářské stavby spol. s r. o.
On 27 June 2006, the implementation of the large project titled Podkrušnohoří – Sewage Treatment Plant Reconstruction, partially funded by the EU, was ceremonially completed in Žatec.
The contractor of the project was the “Sdružení firem Podkrušnohoří – ČOV” consortium, comprising of Metrostav, a.s., OHL ŽS a. s. and Vodohospodářské stavby spol. s r. o. The investor was Severočeská vodárenská společnost, a. s.
Specifically, it included the reconstruction and enlarging of the capacity of the sewage treatment plants in Jirkov, Kadaň, Klášterec nad Ohří, Údlice and Žatec , costing EUR 12.949 million in total. The first of the reconstructions was the sewage treatment plant in Žatec in November 2004, followed by the STPs in Klášterec nad Ohří, Kadaň and Jirkov in the course of January 2005. Reconstruction of the STP in Úklice was commenced as the last of the projects in March 2005. All the sewage treatment plants now comply with the strictest of environmental standards.
