On 19 - 20 October 2004, on the occasion of the closing of the information campaign organised as a part of the European Week for Health and Safety at Work, a conference was held in Kaiserstein Palace, Prague focusing on the elimination of risks at work in the building industry and other sectors. A contribution on behalf of ŽS Brno, a. s. was presented by Petr Sláčala, Director of the EES Branch.
On 19 - 20 October 2004, on the occasion of the closing of the information campaign organised as a part of the European Week for Health and Safety at Work, a conference was held in Kaiserstein Palace, Prague focusing on the elimination of risks at work in the building industry and other sectors. The patronage of this conference was held by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Zdeněk Škromach and the “Safe Company” certificates, which our company received as early as in 2002, were ceremonially handed over there. Concurrently, the results were announced of the “Together Safely!” fine art and literary competition on the topics of “Safety at Work in the Building Industry” and “Noise – Enemy No. 1” , which made up a part of this information campaign.


The second day of the conference was approached as a Czech – Spanish workshop on issues related to health and safety at work in the building industry. Under the programme, there was a presentation of Spanish knowledge and experience with the implementation of requirements contained in EU directives regarding corporate practice along with activities carried out by labour inspection and other interested parties. Alberto Cerdán, Senior Commercial Officer of the Spanish Embassy in the Czech Republic, and Raimundo Aragón, CEO of the Safety at Work Inspection of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Spain shared their experience acquired in this area. On behalf of the Czech side, comments on the topic were passed for example by Miloš Paleček, Director of the Occupational Safety Research Institute and Jaromír Elbel, Chairman of the Czech Occupational Safety Agency. The lecturers also included representatives of the OHL Group – Gregorio Nieto, Director of HSW, and Juan José Antolin, Manager of HSW. A speech on behalf of ŽS Brno, a. s. was given by Petr Sláčala, Director of the EES Branch.
