Certificates and Prizes
In the course of its existence, the OHL ŽS, a. s. construction company has obtained a number of certificates and significant awards. OHL ŽS has introduced an integrated management system, which guarantees the high quality of the finished construction.
Certificates obtained by OHL ŽS
The quality management system according to ČSN EN ISO 9001 proves the company’s ability to permanently provide products and services in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.
The environmental management system according to ČSN EN ISO 14 001 provides a guarantee in the area of environmental protection – not only when construction projects are implemented, but also in the course of the company’s common activities. This system is effectively facilitated with the “EMAS Programme”.
By having the health and safety at work management system certified according to ČSN OHSAS 18001, the company proves that it has been reducing risks posed to employees’ safety and health while they perform their job. As an acknowledgement of its approach towards its employees’ safety and protection of their health at work, the company was awarded the “Safe Company” certificate, which it has justified repeatedly.

OHL ŽS, a. s. is the proud winner of many prizes, e.g.:
- first place in the Best Development of the South-Moravian Region 2007 competition for the construction of the Large City Ring Road in Brno, the Hlinky multilevel junction
- first place in the Construction of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2007 for the reconstruction of the passenger building and the area in front of the Ostrava-Svinov railway station
- first place in the Best Development of the South Moravian Region 2007 for the construction of the Masaryk University campus, the Blue Phase
- first place in the Best Development of the South-Moravian Region 2007 competition for the construction of the sewage collection system and the sewage treatment plant in Těšany
- the certificate of merit in the Best Development of the Olomouc Region 2008 for the construction of the Bridge by the Infant Home, Olomouc
- the prize awarded by the President of the Olomouc Region in 2008 for reconstruction of the “C” Part of the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc
- first place in the Best Development of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2006 competition for the Auditorium and Centre of Information Technologies at the VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava
- the Transport Construction of 2004 prize for the modernization of the Děčín railway junction
- the Transport Construction of 2005 prize for optimization of the Krasíkov – Česká Třebová route segment
- first place in the Best Development of the South Moravian Region 2002 for the reconstruction of the Radost Puppet Theatre, Phase II
- first place in the Best Development of the South Moravian Region 2004 for the reconstruction and completion of the Brno City Theatre
- second place in the Best Development of the South Moravian Region 2002 competition for the construction of the General Health Insurance Company of the Czech Republic
- the 2004 TOP INVEST prize for the modernization and completion of the Teaching Hospital, Olomouc
- third place in the Best Development of the South Moravian Region 2005 competition, the Reconstruction of Structures and Buildings category, for the reconstruction of the Joštova 10 building performed for the Faculty of Social Studies of the Masaryk University, Brno
- the Development of 2004 award for construction of the Hlubočepy – Barrandov tram line (Phase 2)
- the Rehabilitation Project of 2003 title of honour for the reconstruction of the septic tanks at the Modřice sewage treatment plant
- the Bridge Development Project of 2003 prize for the implementation of the Elevated Tram Line on the Hlubočepy – Barrandov route
